I will just say this, my 8 year old is in ITA Taekwon Do and he enjoys it. It has tought him confidence, it has tought him respect, it also made him a pretty good practicioner. When he spars it is more like traditional fighting, arms up protecting the head and alot like what you see in Karate. He is a Brown Belt now and received his level 1 teaching cert and I am proud of his accomplishments. I saw the Olympic style of Taekwondo and not to rip on it but I don't think this type is useful if you happen to get into a street fight. That is just my opinion so relax guys. I'm a TAGB blue stripe and have sparred in the English and Welsh competitions when I was green stripe and green respectively.
